This Fic was concieved and partially written with my boyfriend, Fox69. However we had some creative differences regarding the ending, hopefully this will eventually link to a url where you can find the fic (which I loving wrote untill three in the morning coz fox didn't have time) with his ending and some alterations.
Cordelia Chase, Charles Gunn and Wesley Windom-Price are sat in the main office of Angel Investigations. Wesley is in his seat at the desk; Cordelia is sat in the guest chair and Gunn on the side of the desk. "What was up with Angel tonight?" said Gunn shifting his butt cheeks on the uncomfortable wooden desk. Cordelia smiled, "He was extra broody tonight, wasn't he." Wesley looked up from a grisly newspaper article.
"He said he was going to the host's bar, maybe he feels in need of some guidance."
"Or some booze." Quips Gunn.

"… And then we hid in the sewer, all coz Spike had killed, like, twenty people. Darla and Dru were there, but they were boring, just stood by itching for us to fight. But then Spike and me came to blows, we did that a lot, I was so hard on him…" The Ch'ata demon sighed and reached for his drink again. Why was this vampire boring him with his life story? He had just come into this bar for a quite drink and suddenly this vampire was occupying the barstool next to him and spewing this drivel into his ear. He really didn't care that this vampire was reformed, he didn't care that he travelled the world wreaking his own havoc with these other undead. And who was this Spike that he kept banging on about anyway? Right now he just wanted to go back to his festering pit. Angel continued "I wish I could remember more clearly." The slime covered, purple and puce demon saw his chance for escape "Well, I have just the thing, buddy." The demon opened his huge, woollen overcoat and hundreds of different colours of vials were lined up in pockets. The Ch'ata ran his fingers along several of the vials before selecting one which was a perfect crystal clear colour, if you could call it that.
He handed it to Angel, "This is a tincture for clarity, it will solve all your memory, and emotional problems." Angel leaned over and put his arm around what could be described as the demons neck and slurred; "You are the nicest Ch'ata I've ever met, your my best friend, anyone ever bothers you, tell me and I'll pound 'em!" Angel took the vial and tipped his head back as he drank it. As the last drop dripped out into his mouth, Angel swallowed and promptly fell backwards off his barstool onto the floor. The chaos demon singing at the time was interrupted from his heartfelt rendition of I will do Anything for Love. This allowed the Ch'ata made a stealthy escape, vowing never to go to that bar again.

Wesley, Gunn and Cordelia stood over an unconscious Angel, who Lorne, the Host, had propped up on a seat near the entrance. "Thank god you've got here, now can you remove your boss, he's bad for business. I've had twelve Customers walk away from here at the sight of him in half an hour."
"He's not the Boss anymore. " Wesley corrected him
"I don't care, just get this drunkard out of here." The green skinned demon replied
"Angel was drunk?" Cordelia was obviously shocked; Lorne looked at her with contempt. "Yes, he was drinking in a bar, that’s what bars are for, although you can tell he doesn't do it very often, three Bloody Mary's and he's out cold. I'm glad not all of my customers take their drink like him. Now a Kerral demon can take thirty pints before he's even tipsy, that’s where the money is…"
"We get the point." Gunn cut him off lifting, Angel by his underarms. Wesley grabbed his feet. "We'll get him out of your way, I'm sorry for the trouble."

The next evening Angel woke up with the most unusually clear head, it was as if a large veil was lifted from over his eyes, the world finally made sense. His mission was pointless; he didn't need to atone for what he had done when he was soulless, he very literally wasn't himself, because the soul was the definition of self, without it he was a shell. Also now he knew what he needed to do in life, the one person… he had to find Cordelia and talk. He leapt out of bed and bounded down the staircase into the hotel foyer where Cordelia was stood with her 'you've been naughty' look. "Surprised you haven't got a hangover, or don't vampires get them?" She said in her best degrading, older voice. Angel, however, didn't care "Do you think Spike's still around? In sunnydale? I need to find him. It's very important."
"How the hell should I know? Angel, we need to talk about last night. Why did you get drunk, are you unhappy, do you need anything." Angel smiled and did a backflip "Haven't felt better in ages, I know what I need to do." Cordelia looked exasperated and tossed her head defiantly "Stop playing around, yes, I know what you do you slay demons and protect people. Why are you acting so strangely?" Angel smiled at her
"I'm just very sure what I need to do." With that he turned, put his long coat on and walked out of the hotel. Cordelia clicked her tongue and muttered "He's in one of those moods." Cordelia called in Gunn and Wesley.
"Angels just walked out, he was acting very strangely, he did a backflip." Gunn and Wesley looked at each other then Wesley spoke; "Oh god, he's possessed again. It must have something to do with what happened at the bar last night." Gunn looked unimpressed
"No shit Shirlock, so we going to the Bar to find out what happened?"

So yet again Lorne had his bar invaded by the agency. "Look, all I know is he came in and spent the evening knocking back drinks, if you can call three Bloody Mary's knocking 'em back, and telling some Ch'ata demon his life story. Now I need to get back to reading that vampire." Wesley stopped him
"Ch'ata, the chemists of the underworld, did he give anything to Angel?" Lorne pulled away "I wasn't looking, now mind the threads. I told you all I know, you’re the detectives, so go and detect." With that he walked back to his table and Gunn, Wesley and Cordelia were left with the prospect of research.
Thankfully Wesley knew exactly where to look, Gunn nearly vomited at the site of its picture. "Puce!?" he gurgled "What kinda colour is puce?" Wesley ignored him and continued reading.
"Only nest's in cesspools to distil the best chemicals. But we don't have cesspools anymore…" Cordelia clicked hr fingers excitedly
"The Sewage works! That’s really Gross"
"Right lets go!" shouted Gunn

Each of the trio wielded a large axe as they crept into the stinky cesspool Cordelia looked displeased "I'm gonna kill Angel, why couldn't he get attacked by a Demon that lived in a tasteful and well decorated apartment?"
"Shhhhh" Wesley silenced her. They turned a corner, but the disgusting demon simply invited them in "What can I do for you folks today?" he asked politely. Wesley tried to be manly as he pushed the blade of the axe toward the Ch'ata's so called neck "I want to know what you gave to my employee Angel."
"Angel" stuttered the Ch'ata "You mean the irritating vampire at the bar?"
"Yeah" Said Gunn, in a much more imposing way then Wesley. The Ch'ata was confused, he had helped the stupid vampire, they should be happy, he sighed, humans are never satisfied. "The vampire was claiming he was confused and boring me to death so I gave him a Clarity tincture to get him off my back, its not dangerous, it should make him allot easier to deal with, he'll be less confused."
"Well he's not, he's just disappeared and we need to find him." Shouted Cordelia angrily "Do you have an antidote." Gunn looked at her
"What good is an antidote when you don't know where he is."
"Don't talk to me like that." Cordelia retorted "What's the good in finding him if we can't cure him?"
"Fine" said Gunn angrily and turned back to the Ch'ata "So, Antidote?" The Ch'ata bought out a vial from his coat which contained a liquid, black as the darkest night. "Here" he said "and if you pay me for this antidote, I'll tell you what this Angel was talking about, don't and I'll drop it, it'll smash and we'll all be disappointed." Wesley shrugged and drew out his wallet, Gunn looked disgusted "Your actually gonna pay this monster?"
"Ch'ata aren't violent, they only sell things to violent creatures, why shouldn't I pay him for his services?"
Cordelia sided with Gunn "Maybe because he poisoned Angel."
"I'm the Boss, you are my subordinates and this demon thought he was doing Angel a favour." The money and the vial was exchanged and the Ch'ata said
"He talked about some vampire called Spike, a lot." Cordelia looked like she had a brilliant thought "He asked me where Spike was this morning, and then mentioned Sunnydale, he must have gone to kill him. If his minds all clear, then after that he might go on a vengeance spree, we have to stop him, he might get hurt!"

Cordelia walk slowly back to the hotel, when she entered Fred was sat on the floor waiting for her. "Hi, Fred, I spent the last of our very small amount of money on four tickets to Sunnydale, I couldn't get tickets until six tonight, but since Angel would have to get the train, we should arrive in time to catch up with him." Fred looked at her with her wide, nervous eyes "I know flying is safe an' all, I know how it works with airflow and things, but is it scary?" Cordelia smiled, she secretly loved playing the mother figure to Fred "It's fine, looking out the window you can see all the way down on a clear day and the ground looks like a patchwork quilt."

The Scoobies were having a meeting in the Magic Box; a standard Demon hunt was brewing. Giles was talking in his upper-class English accent "These demons can only be killed by the removal of their liver, which is situated in their left heel. They have…" frantic knocking on the door interrupted him. Buffy walked over and opened the door and pulled the impolite visitor in roughly inside and pinned them against the wall. Then she realised it was Angel she looked at him with a very ambivalent expression "Angel." She said in a voice close to tears "Why…How." Angel looked disinterested "I hitched a lift on a train. Do you know where Spike is?" Buffy looked like her heart was broken "You…you didn't want to see me, you can stay…we could catch up, after you've finished whatever it is your doing."
"Maybe" Angel replied in an absent minded, non-committal voice. "Do you know where Spike is, it's important."
"He's got a crypt in the graveyard, you know what he's like, never got over the Goth vamp image." Xander answered in a dangerous whisper "Now get out before you upset her even more." At that point Angel noticed Buffy was in a corner sobbing, so he left, he had got the information he had come for.

Fifteen minutes after Angel had gone there was another round of frantic knocking again, Xander went to the door and shouted "Go away Angel, you've done enough damage." A voice from behind the door shouted in an English accent, similar to that of Giles "It's not Angel, its Wesley." Willow opened the door and admitted him, and the rest of the investigating team, Fred was then introduced to everyone Wesley seemed very protective of her, then he cut to the chase. "We need to find Angel, he's taken a Ch'ata tincture for clarity, we think he's going to go on a vengeance spree." Buffy looked relieved "So he's not himself, he's under this catta's control." Giles answered "It's Ch'ata and he is probably more himself then he ever has been before, Ch'ata tinctures are renowned for their potency." Buffy's face took on a hardened, angry look as Giles continued "But why do you think he's on a vengeance spree?" Xander answered before the LA posse could "How 'bout he's asking for Spike and ignoring Buffy, even as evil Vamps those two hated each other."
"Point made Xander." Giles said wearily. Then Buffy spoke
"I'll take you to him, I assume you have an antidote." Angel Investigations exited, lead by Buffy, Willow and Tara followed, mostly out of curiosity.

The Slayer, the Witches and Angel Investigations stood outside the door to Spike's crypt armed to the teeth they looked at each other, knowing they were in for a fight. Buffy stood at the front and said "1… 2… 3" With the count of three she kicked the door in and everyone piled in to a very unexpected scene. Angel had hold of Spikes leg and wouldn't let go, Spike was dragging him around and trying to loosen his grip by shaking his foot. As Buffy walked in he stopped took a cigarette out of his mouth saying "Slayer, can't you keep you're pussy-whipped ex's away from me. Seeing you two together made me want to puke, but I preferred that to having him stalk me with the same soppy bloody attitude." Angel looked at Spike with adoring eyes and said lovingly "You can't deny the attraction between us, it's only grown over the last century." This caused Spike to resume trying to detach Angel from his leg and shout, "Get off me you wanker, before I stake you." Angel just latched on tighter and said "You could never do that to me Spiky."

Buffy simply slid down a wall and sat on the floor staring blankly whispering "It was bad enough that he wanted vengeance more than me. Now he wants Spike more than me?" but Wesley started talking "Angel must have had subconscious feelings for Spike and the clarity tincture must have bought the attraction to the forefront of his mind." Gunn just looked amazed as Angel let go of Spike's leg, got up and tried to kiss him "Angel had subconscious feelings for a male, soulless vampire." Willow looked at Gunn angrily and shouted "Homophobe!" she then took Tara's hand.
"S'not that." Gunn mumbled "I just didn't think he was that way inclined." Spike was now hiding behind his stone coffin shouting "Bugger off!" Angel leapt on top of it and Spike shouted "Oi, Slayer, can't you keep you Beau's under control. First Riley attacks me now …THIS." Angel had moved behind Spike and had started to kiss his neck; Spike picked him up and threw him across the room. Gunn then had an idea "Let's just kill the soulless vamp!"

Gunn aimed his crossbow at Spike, so Angel jumped in front of it "If you want to kill him then you'll have to kill me first." Buffy suddenly jumped into action and kicked Gunn in the head, knocking him out "Your not hurting Spike." She said followed by "God, what am I saying?" Angel then turned around and tried to stroke Spikes face, but Spike was far more interested in what Buffy had just said "I knew you had feelings for me Slayer, lets stake your ex and be on our merry way together." Buffy had that ambivalent look again "I don't have feelings for you, I only did it 'coz of what you did for me and Dawn." Wesley was getting angry
"Shut up, you can sort this out later." Spike got angry with Wesley
"Faith should have gutted you when she had the chance Wes." Enraged, Wesley attacked Spike, only to be thrown across the floor by Angel "Don't touch him." Then Wesley remembered what he had to do, he got the vial out but Angel was trying to straddle Spike, who had been pushed down in Wesley's assault, and was saying things like "So you like it rough, huh?" Still Wesley tried
"Angel, you have to take this antidote."
"I don't need an antidote, Wes, I've never been so sure of everything before." Spike was pinned beneath Angel, easily the stronger vampire. He then started trying to bite Spike wherever flesh was available. Spike was now shouting "Get the stupid Git off me" and struggling to get away "Slayer, a little help here." Buffy was in denial and Wesley was still gibbering about the anti dote when Buffy shouted, "I'm not helping you because I don't have feelings for you and I hope Angel has his wicked way with you!" Spike then tried a different tactic
"At least we'd have a shared experience!" That got Buffy's attention, with a new-found fury she charged at Angel with a force that caused him to fly across the room, again. Buffy and Spike working together evened things out somewhat.

Willow, Tara, Cordelia and Fred stood and watched "D'ya think we should help out?" Fred asked the two witches nervously, "What could we do?" replied Tara. "I could do a confusion spell to spilt them all up" Tara smiled at her "Oh Sweetie, don't you think its confused enough?" A wicked smile then appeared on Willows face
"I have an idea. Buffy, Spike get back." They both retreated as Willow chanted "Inferno Encacerente." A cage of fire appeared around Angel who was forced to stay in the middle of it to avoid going up in flames. Willow then called everyone over to explain her plan.

"I'm not doing it, you must be bloody mad, I'm not going in there with him and it can't have bee a clarity thing because there is no way that spiky haired idiot has any pleasant feelings for me, subconscious or not." Spike was pacing up and down outside his broken crypt door with his T-shirt half-torn off and a cigarette protruding from his mouth. Willow pleaded with him "Its the only way to get him to stop, you want him to be unaware of those feelings again dont you?" Spike gave her a very contemptuous look "Not if it means doing what you suggested." Willow was just about to start pleading again when Buffy walked purposefully over to Spike and kissed him, long and hard. Gunn looked astounded "Why does everyone find him so attractive he's a scrawny peroxide blond VAMPIRE." Wesley sympathised with him "I know, why don't we get people throwing themselves at us." Gunn laughed humourlessly "If it means Angel starts trying to come onto me, Ill pass." Buffy and Spike finally stopped kissing and she said breathlessly "Well take that further after you've given Angel the antidote." He looked at her with the same longing expression that had been on Angels face not ten minutes ago "OK, if that’s what it takes."

As soon as Spike entered the crypt the cage around Angel had disappeared and Angel was looking at him lustfully, it made him cringe. Angel spoke "I love you, even if you don't love me, it's all so clear now. All those years, you, Darla, Dru and me. I was blind, convinced Darla was so special, but she wasnt she couldnt hold a candle to you." Spike took a deep breath and spoke quickly
"I, I love you too, I've, I've had to hide my feelings because of Darla and then Buffy." Spike fought with the urge to take a swing at Angel as he moved towards him. Spike was stood between Angel and the stone coffin. Angel pressed up against him "You know I've always liked blondes" he whispered in his ear before kissing his neck. Spike felt like a rabbit caught in headlights, his blood grandfather was kissing his neck. What was scaring Spike more, was that he was enjoying it. Angel Tilted his head up and kissed him, Spike couldn't help but respond, and it was a kiss more passionate than the one he had just shared with Buffy. It was too confusing. He pulled away. He grabbed his flask which was half full with rum, "Lets drink to our… love." Spike stuttered trying desperately to hide the fact he was only play-acting. Passion? From weak, soul filled Angel, not his usual soppy self. Well that’s what Clarity does to you. Spike took a swig and with dexterity that can only be had by a vampire that's cheated at cards for fifty years, poured the antidote in without angel noticing. He offered the flask to Angel, who downed the lot and then suddenly passed out. Spike went outside to announce his victory to Buffy, who held much less of a fascination for him now.

"Jobs done, Slayer, just get him and yourselves out of my home." Buffy walked seductively up to him "Dont I owe you something?"
"You know what, no. You don’t owe me anything." Buffy looked wounded
"Fine, I want to, is that good enough for you?"
"No, its not, you are only doing this to bloody well get at Angel and I won't be your plaything that you can pick up and put down when you feel like it. You want to misbehave now because of that and guess what, I don't feel like it. Ive just been molested by the equivalent of my grandfather and I just want to be alone. So fuck off." Buffy ran off, crying, but he had stopped caring. She had played with him for far to long. He had been a proud and powerful hunter and just because he was neutered, didnt mean he had to be someones lapdog. Drusilla had taught him how to hunt again and now he would use her gift. He got up and strode out of the cemetery. 'I am not a hero; Im a killer what am I even doing here, following the Slayer. Above all else Im a Vampire. I won't be as broody and pathetic as stupid fucking Angel. Following one stupid love after another. Dru and Buffy made me loves bitch, well not anymore!' He had decided.

Spike was just hotwiring a very nice car when the passenger door opened and Angel got in "Piss off Angel, I don't want your excuses." Angel grinned a very un-Angel-like grin and said "Not Angel, Angelus." Spike looked up in amazement "How?" Angelus slammed the door "
